Do men have standards when they date a woman or do they?

just date anyone.. I know a guy who is looking for a relationship he is trying hard to get into a relationship and dates anything that he can get.. its like he is desperate... divorced women, widowed women, fat women, women who are coo coo and etc.. is this how men are .. or do they have standards when they want a woman.
