SAS solider quits after American war tatics ?

The opinion of one brave and experienced solider doesn't make the the entire strategy of the American Military wrong. The attitude of individual U.S, troops towards their enemy is normally developed after their own first hand experiences of the foe and whilst some may argue that over enthusiastic means of interrogation may be justified it does not necessarily form part of the Army's official policy. Those sitting at home playing God and being judgemental about troops who are on the ground facing the viciousness of a ruthless and brutal enemy should stop trying to claim the moral high ground, cease being so smug in the comfort of their own home and recognise that they are safe because of the bravery and tremendous sacrifices of the best fighting force in the world, the U.S.Marines. >>>"ADDITION"<<<<;-Sometimes it is with reluctance that sections of the military of all nations have to temporarily employ extraordinary procedures to stop, or at least reduce the carnage of innocent civilians by a brutal enemy. . During the time of the barbaric onslaught by the "Irish Repuplican Army" on the civilian population in Northern Ireland when woman and children were literally blown to smirhereens in their hundreds, (as they went about their everyday legitmate business, like going to school, shopping or simply feeding their babies), by members of this truly demonic organisation who were consumed by a psychopathic hatred for all mankind, unconventional means of interrogation were considered preferrable to the continuing macare of the innocent. Of course when the security forces of any nation adopt only a fraction of the arduous tactics of their murderous terrorist foes they scream, 'foul'. They, the bombers of woman and children , the back shooters, the roadside bomb experts who, like the repulsive yellow bellied cowards they are, blow up soldiers from afar, the destroyers of jobs think that they are the only ones with a God given right to play dirty. "Fight fire with fire".As with the inhuman savagery of the Repulician Provisional I.R.A, in Northern Ireland terrotists do not fight by any rules. Most unfortunately, on occasions, it may be deemed necessary to employ interim measures, which, whilst well short of the mindless bloodthirsty methods of their sadistic and merciless foes, more effective measures.ADDITION>>"JOE< Firstly, If you are going to write in English at least use the correct grammar and names. The proper word which you should have used in one of your sentences was "saw", I "saw" it for myself... You can say I "have seen". Also the city of Londonderry is spelt as shown.Your selective memory loss omitted to mention that the I.R.A,were using children to transport their weapons of death. If soldiers treated children in such a manner it was wrong but maybe a lesser wrong to avoid a much larger and bloodier one. The events of Bloody Sunday were unquestionably horrific and every reasonable person genuinely grieves at the death of so many good and innocent people. However, it has not been, and may never be established exactly who fired the first shots. Martin Mc Guiness refuses to deny that he fired shots on that momentous day.But what you don't understand is that had the army of any other nation, especially the Russians, been charged with the restoration of civil order in the face of the most shocking I.R.A. atrocities the civilian death toll throughout the so called "troubles" would have been asrtonomically higher. Our suberbly trained and exceptionally well disciplined Army along with successive governments acted or should I say, reacted to the constantly changing security situation and the increasing depravity of the I.R.A., tactics. The only element of the I.R.A's vicious and truly savage campaign which remained constant was their black evilness. Yes. the army did make a few most regrettable mistakes over a 30 year period. It is however, a living tribute to all the security forces that their humane and compionate approach to the 'war' in which they were blown up by roadside bombs, shot in the back along with a list of indescribable heinous crimes remained the most outstanding feature of this terrible period in our recent history.Everyone in the Island of Ireland should thank God that it was our army which was keeping order among the warring factions.
