Why don't the libs realize that the U.S. didn't exist in the times of Jesus?

I mean, they just talk about Jesus in the subjunctive mood when they ask what Jesus would have done, but they don't realize that Jesus wasn't a U.S. citizen, nor did the U.S. exist back then. Why don't they get their history knowledge and their geography straight? Otherwise they just talk about hemp.
