How should I wear my hair to compliment my dress?

I like the half up and half down or a messy updo. The sleek hair style on the model is too dramatic. I have seen this dress on here before, don't know if it was you or not, a beautiful, yet clic, elegant dress. Have most of your hair up with just a few curls coming down in the back with some little side wispies, not too long, you don't want to detract from the dress. I guess what I am saying is really 3/4 up and 1/4 down. Just the sides up with all the back hanging down is too much long hair for this dress. Just me.
