I overwore my contact lenses and have blood vessel growth on my cornea. How long will it take my eyes to heal?

I just went to the optometrist today and he said my eyes are irritated and there is blood vessel growth on my cornea because of overwearing my contacts. I slept in them 6 out of 7 nights. My prescription also got worse even though had been stable for the past three years and he thinks this is due to overwearing my contacts as well. Will the blood vessel growth go away and how long will this take? I plan on wearing gles for three hours a day and taking my contacts out every night.
